Karren Quarter Horses proudly offers to the public: Smokeys Jaguar, w/ AQHA halter & performance ROMs (only a handful of halter points from AQHA Championship). He has a full sister who was AQHA World Reserve Champion Heeling Horse and 3/4 brother who was Palomino World Reserve Champion Reining Horse. He has an exceptional pedigree with proven show lines. All but one of the horses on his papers are proven and/or have produced proven offspring. If you are looking for that hard to find “all-around” or “versatile” stallion, don’t look any further! He has powerful spins, hard stops and agile lead changes. He will sure enough chase down a cow! We were looking for versatility when we bought him and we believe he has the capabilities to accomplish any goal we set. Our next goal is his AQHA Championship!
“Jag” was shown successfully to many wins in NFQHA In-Hand Trail by Sherri Karren in 1999-2000. Jag showed a few months in Reining under Shawn Deal in 2003, and even after we stopped showing in July he still ended the Idaho season 2nd in Open Halter & 4th in Jr Reining. In 2004 Shawn Deal and Sherri Karren again showed in AQHA. We finished the year with the IQHA Sr Reining Horse of the year! (2nd Amateur Halter, 3rd Open Halt, & 5th Am Reining). 2005 Mike Merriott trained and showed Jag in AQHA Heeling (if Jag didn’t place it was because the roper missed, not because Jag didn’t do his job). He won numerous classes and finished his Performance ROM in Heeling and Reining! 2005 ended with IQHA year end awards: 2nd Am Halter, 3rd Sr Reining, and 4th Open Halter (Jag missed Heeling Horse of the Year because we were not aware the roping trainer did not belong to IQHA)! While showing under Shawn & Mike at IQHA Golden Spud Circuit Jag received AQHA All Around Awards! Jag is what the American Quarter Horse should be: a good-looking, athletic individual with a great disposition.
Jag’s foals are showing such potential! He is producing color and class: w/ 10 palominos, 5 buckskins, 7 sorrels (5 w/ flaxen manes & 2 liver chestnut), 4 grays, 2 duns, 2 blacks & 1 bay. One filly is in Alaska winning all kinds of halter and western pleasure awards; another is in reining training and has the trainer very excited. Three foals are being ridden on ranches and doing wonderfully!
